Following a degree in English and Classics at London University, Sarah returned to her first love, Art, studying at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design. Her work was selected for the National Print Exhibition in 1997 at the Mall Galleries and the following year she held her first solo show in London.

In 1998, Sarah converted a room in her house in Dorset to a purpose built studio, housing her etching press and ever growing supply of art materials. This allowed her to run occasional workshops from home and show visitors around her workspace.

In 2013, after twenty years in Dorset, Sarah moved to Lochgoilhead, in Argyll and has been inspired by the dramatic change of scenery. Having exhibited widely throughout England, Sarah has now expanded her gallery network northwards since her recent move to Scotland. Her work has been on display at the ‘Art on Paper’ fair at the Royal College of Art as well as being regularly showcased at the Affordable Art Fairs by Wills Art Warehouse.

In 2014 Sarah’s tree imagery was featured in a book, published in America called Green Art: Trees, Leaves, and Roots [E. Ashley Rooney, Margery Goldberg]

In 2015 Sarah was featured in an edition of both Pratiques Des Arts, in France and the online magazine Inspirational. Her work was also selected for the Winter exhibition at the Scottish Royal Academy.

In 2017 Sarah visited Mexico and toured with her Mexican Printmaker friend Alejandra Villarreal. In 2018 Ale came to the UK for the Travelling Printmakers joint show in Scotland, followed by a round Britain tour.
In 2018 one of her iconic drystone wall images was used as the front cover of ‘Between Stone and Sky by Whitney Brown.
