Emilio Fazzi Artist

Emilio has been an artist painting Scotland and Italy for many decades. He says “Born in Glasgow, being Scottish and Italian is an important part of my make up and I am so grateful to the UK for allowing me to claim both nationalities.”

In 2023 Emilio was awarded the gold medal from the Town of Lucca for being a citizen of the town who distinguished themselves abroad. “I can think of no better place to live than the southside of Glasgow, a city with elegant “paintable” suburbs nestled next to ones that are more downbeat.” He paints much of the Scottish countryside like the Western Highlands, the farmlands of Ayrshire, Edinburgh and the Lowlands and the hills of Stirlingshire. He thinks that they are often unappreciated yet are world class places to paint, despite the vagaries of the Scottish weather.
