Allison Young
Allison Young graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1988, with first class honours, then completed a postgraduate diploma. In 1991 she studied in Lodz, Poland, for a year, under the British Council Scholarship Scheme.
Allison was artist in residence at Edinburgh Zoo in 2001. She has also completed an artist in residence at the WASPS artists’ studios in Scalloway, Shetland. Based at the WAPSs studios in Edinburgh, Allison Young is inspired by her love of the Scottish landscape. Inspired by the Scottish landscape, she paints the East Lothian beaches of North Berwick, Gullane and Yellowcraig, to the vast empty beaches of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides, and north to the dramatic Shetland coastline.
