Gary Morrow grew up in Glasgow but now lives and works in scenic County Wexford, Ireland. His academic studies were in the area of Computer Science and he worked at Strathclyde University for many years before pursuing a painting career. An interest in traditional painting methods led to extensive study of the work of past masters - from the layered approach of Italian masters such as Caravaggio and Titian to the more direct work of late 19th and early 20th century artists. Gary Morrow is particularly inspired by the naturalistic work of the Glasgow Boys especially that of George Henry and William Guthrie. His aim is to create work that reflects the beauty of our surroundings in a way that is both representational and expressive.
Following in the footsteps of the Glasgow Boys, Gary is an elected artist member of the historic Glasgow Art Club (GAC).
His work attracts considerable interest from galleries and collectors across the UK and America.
